Information about saved scores.

Strn automatically saves scores in a file called "savedscores".
This file is placed in your private news directory (usually ~/News).
The "savedscores" file is read when strn is started, and written when
strn exits. This file may be removed anytime that strn is not
running--strn will recreate the file next time it runs.

If you do not want to save scores in a newsgroup or a
hierarchy, you can use the "savescores off" command. (To stop saving
scores for all newsgroups, put the "savescores off" command in the
global score file.) To begin saving scores again, use "savescores on".
If no savescores command is present, scores will be saved.

Even if you use "savescores off" in the global score file, a
short "savedscores" file will be written. This file will contain only
a short comment and a version identifier.

The saved scores are written in a very compact format. After
scoring 10 days of all groups inalt, comp, misc, news, rec, sci, soc, and
talk (about 2000 newsgroups), the saved score file was only 192K. If
you read fewer newsgroups than that, the size of the score file will
be less. (My ordinary reading (100 or so groups) takes about 30K.)

Notes:

	* Strn only saves the scores of unread articles.

	* When writing the saved scores to a file, a file
"savedscores.bak" (where ##### is a number) will be created in the
directory containing the final score file. It contains the temporary
contents of a saved-score file and it will be removed when the scores
are saved. It is mentioned here in case it is not removed. This file
can be safely removed when strn is not running.
