A quick and simple introduction to strn.
[Last updated 3/1/93 by Clifford Adams]

[Since I want to get this code out to the testers, this section is
going to be fairly brief for the early alpha testers. This file is
one of my highest near-term priorities, however. The points below
will be rewritten later in a better documentation style.]

[1/10/93: again, I would like to write more but I'd rather spend time
coding (and documenting) new features. If you have *any* questions,
send them to me--think of it as debugging the documentation. :-]

[3/1/93: Hmmm... I think I see a pattern developing here.]

See the files scanarticle, scangroup, and score_intro for
introductions to the major features of strn.

For those who just want to jump right in, just run strn and
type ':' (the colon key) at the newsgroup prompt. Then type 'h' for
help and try out some of the features. Move the cursor to a newsgroup
and type ';' (semicolon)--then type 'h' for help on that mode. After
playing around for awhile go back and read the documentation.

Features and Requests:
	* Feature requests are welcomed. Some of them may even be coded.
Feature requests which
		o Are specific
("Can strn display the number of articles on the top line?"
rather than "clean up the display".)
		o include a (portable!) patch
		o can be used optionally
(In case the feature is controversial)
...are more likely to be implemented.

The user interface can be changed fairly easily and commands
are usually simple to add. If you're not sure, just send your
suggestions anyway and I'll try to get a reply back soon.

Have fun with strn!
